The Government of India, on 22nd December 2016, has sanctioned a package of Rs. 2000 Crore for providing financial assistance of Rs. 5.5 Lakh per family to 36,384 displaced family of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are POJK (1947) and Chhamb (1965 and 1971), living in Jammu and Kashmir.

The President of India has promulgated today two ordinances, namely, the Central Goods and Services Tax (Extension to Jammu and Kashmir) Ordinance, 2017 and the Integrated Goods and Services Tax (Extension to Jammu and Kashmir) Ordinance, 2017 extending the domain of Central GST Act and the Integrated GST Act to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, with effect from 8th July, 2017. With this, the State of Jammu and Kashmir has
become part of the GST regime, making GST truly a “ one nation, one tax” regime.
Two IAF Garuds Martyred During Combined Cordon and Search Operation in JK (11 October 2017)
Two Indian Air Force Garuds, part of a joint security team were martyred in a gunfight during Combined Cordon and Search Operation today in Hajin Village of Bandipora district, Kashmir. The Garuds were operating with the Army.
