Bodoland Territorial Council delegation meets Dr Jitendra Singh ( 24 April 2017 )
A delegation of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), led by Member of Parliament, Shri Biswajit Daimary met the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh here today and sought his intervention for redressal of their long pending demands including the grant of ‘Scheduled Tribe’ status to Bodo Kachari living in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao as well as Karbi (Mikr) living in plain areas of Assam.
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the signing and ratifying of an Agreement between India and Philippines on co-operation and mutual assistance in customs matters. The Agreement will help in the availability of relevant information for the prevention and investigation of Customs offences. The Agreement is also expected to facilitate trade and ensure efficient clearance of goods
traded between the countries.
