Bodoland Territorial Council delegation meets Dr Jitendra Singh (24 April 2017)
A delegation of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) met the Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region Dr Jitendra Singh and sought his intervention for redressal of their long pending demands including the grant of ‘Scheduled Tribe’ status to Bodo Kachari living in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao as well as Karbi (Mikr) living in plain areas of Assam.
Coastal Defence Security (01 August 2017)
A coastal security mechanism in the form of a three-tiered cover comprising Indian Navy(IN), Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and State Marine Police with demarcated areas of responsibility has been put in place. Coastal Security Exercises are being conducted in all coastal States and Union Territories to assess the effectiveness of existing mechanisms and to address gaps.
Dr. Jitendra Singh calls for tackling Insurgency issue with customized solutions (17 November 2017)
Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that CAPFs and State Police has come of age to tackle the menace of insurgency. He said that new and evolved Technology should be utilized to tackle the insurgency and terrorism effectively.

At present, 26 airports are categorized as Hyper-sensitive and 56 airports as Sensitive. The State Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) etc. have been deployed at the airports where CISF are not deployed.
