China on Saturday launched the crewed spaceship Shenzhou-13, sending three astronauts to its space station core module Tianhe for a six-month mission. China’s Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on Thursday released 100 sets of industrial standards regarding public safety, covering areas of social security, traffic management, and the techniques applied in collecting evidence for criminal cases. China’s GDP expanded 4.9 percent in the third quarter of 2021, slowing from previous quarters amid rising economic challenges including a power crunch and the global supply chain bottleneck. The growth is slightly lower than market expectations which put it at 5 percent. The country’s economic output rose 4.9 percent both on one-year and two-year basis in the third quarter, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday morning. A Chinese military newspaper has called for a “people’s war” to defeat American espionage after the CIA set up a new unit dedicated to China. The launch of China Mission Centre on October 7, which CIA Director William Burns said was aimed at countering “the most important geopolitical threat” of the century, has gone viral on Chinese social media.
