The District Court on Tuesday sentenced five Chinese University of Hong Kong students to up to four years and 11 months in prison for their roles in the rioting that took place at the university’s campus in 2019. The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), China’s top cyberspace regulator, held a working meeting on Monday on the “Clear and Bright” campaign and stressed certain accounts as major targets, including the accounts of banned users and “zombie followers” of celebrities. Owners of illegal accounts that were shut down according to the law and platform rules are not allowed to open new accounts with the same or similar names. The five-day fair – the largest of its kind in China – kicked off last Friday in Guangzhou, but many Chinese exhibitors said they were disappointed at the lack of foreign buyers, with some packing up and leaving early on the last day of the fair on Tuesday.
